Some Visual Development and Rough Ideas for my short countdown loop on the theme ‘Hot Mess’.
I really wanted to nail it on the colour script, not only to show a nice hot vibrant summers day but also In the short amount of time the animation would be on screen, Visually I wanted to make sure the number is well communicated and recognisable to the audience.

Below are some quick style frames for the short that I explored, the project had a minimal palette to adhere to, I wanted to take that universally recognised sign of disability of a Sunflower and shown it being cut down needlessly to emphasise the cuts could have even on one individual, The swiftness of the cut to emphasise how quickly it can devastate a whole group of people and how careless and disconnected the one doing the cutting is, such a small action by this individual has a life changing impact on those who need to receive this support.
